On August 21, 2024, Circuit Media (CM) had the privilege to attend and speak at the Empower through Mentoring – Strengthening the Department of Energy’s Small Business Supply Chain forum hosted by Sandia National Laboratories and the DOE Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization held in Albuquerque, NM. This forum was an incredible opportunity for small businesses such as Circuit Media to learn about the DOE’s New Mentor-Protégé Program (MPP) initiatives, connect with other small businesses, Protégés, Mentors, DOE’s National Laboratories, program offices, and prime contractors through networking opportunities.

CM also had the opportunity to engage in one-on-one matchmaking sessions with DOE program offices, attend educational breakout sessions, and learn more from DOE regarding navigating DOE requirements and the landscape.

As a protégé, this opportunity was very inspiring. CM was able to expand opportunities within the DOE and connect with other ambitious small businesses! CEO Rebecca Askew presented CM’s capabilities, commitment to excellence, and the significant benefits of our partnership with DOE laboratories.

Our Journey in the Mentor-Protégé Program

Since joining the DOE Mentor-Protégé Program in 2023, we’ve seen firsthand the benefits of these partnerships. The program has opened doors for us, allowing us to receive sole-source Direct Awards from DOE laboratories across 10 NAICS codes.

Circuit Media has offered DOE the opportunity to advance its small business initiatives. This also enhances diversity and inclusion efforts and optimizes resource allocation. Circuit Media provides access to skilled professionals, flexible staffing solutions, and cost-effective services. Our approach increases efficiency while supporting DOE’s strategic objectives.
