Project Summary

Develop a mental health campaign to encourage the City of Denver to be more intentional with the words we use.

Description

This project addressed the stigma around behavioral health, specifically the language people use around serious mental health conditions. We developed the campaign, “What You Say Matters”, as an effort to challenge the everyday language people use that may dismiss or hurt those around them going through a challenging time with their mental health. We hoped the messaging of the campaign would encourage more considerate language that would make those with personal experience feel better understood, thus making them more willing to talk about their condition and eventually seek services. It is work that impacts our community greatly.
