What is a Direct Award contract?
Direct Award contracts are a way to award certain small businesses with a contract without going through the long RFP process. A Contracting Officer can award a contract to a single contractor if the following apply:
- A determination that the company is a responsible vendor
- The contract can be awarded at a fair market price
- The total value of the contract doesn’t exceed the price threshold
