Office of Performance Management and the Chief Financial Officer

Circuit Media was awarded a contract with the Office of Performance Management and the Chief Financial Officer (OPM/OCFO), within the U.S. Small Business Administration to provide technical assistance support inclusive of copy editing, graphic design, framing, quality control, publishing, 508 compliance, and printing of the SBA Financial and Budgetary Reports. The results of this effort were the SBA’s annual Agency Financial Report (AFR), annual Summary of Performance and Financial Information (SPFI), Program Evaluation Framework and Guidelines, OMB Submission, and annual Congressional Budget Justification (CBJ) / Annual Performance Report. These reports, which are required by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), are public documents available to the White House, Congress, and the general public. Due to their expansive reach, they must be visually appealing as well as technically accurate and consistent in terms of their included data.

Office of the National Ombudsman

As part of an agency-wide IDIQ contract, Circuit Media was selected to provide the Small Business Administration’s Office of the National Ombudsman (ONO) with professional support services to develop a compelling and high-quality annual report to Congress. Circuit Media was responsible for the design of the report’s layout and graphics and the development of all text within the 50-page report. Work on this project included the following: summarizing and developing compelling content and stories from various sources provided by the ONO, keeping the mission and strategic goals of the office in mind, creating a layout for the report that makes for a straightforward, engaging, and interesting reader experience, including layout consideration for web and other digital/mobile platforms (including 508 compliance), creating visually appealing and useful charts, graphs, maps, etc., from written materials provided by the ONO to ensure the report is not overly text heavy, thoughtfully incorporating web links and existing digital assets to help link the report to other communications tools, striking an appropriate balance between a visually appealing report and the cost of production based on design options and choices that emphasize value to the reader, and providing a final product that is grammatically correct, error-free, and ready for reproduction.
