Ashley joins the team as an Editorial Intern
This month, Law Week Colorado welcomed Ashley Hopko to the team! Ashley will be reporting on legal stories in Colorado for Circuit Media’s weekly in-house publication.
Ashley currently studies at the University of Colorado Boulder and plans to graduate in May with a degree in Journalism, Political Science and global media.
A Colorado Native from Conifer, she enjoys hiking 14ers, traveling and gardening. Ashley recently had the opportunity to study abroad in Singapore, where she backpacked to seven countries during her stay. She fell in love with Taiwan, where she spent a week traveling solo during a mid-semester break.
Ashley comes to Law Week Colorado with previous experience in reporting. Last summer, she participated in the Carnegie-Knight Foundation News21 national reporting initiative at Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. During this time, Ashley and her team were assigned the topic of “hate crimes,” and they ultimately won a 2018 EPPY award in the Best College/University Investigate Documentary Report category.
In Denver, Ashley enjoys brunching on the weekend with her friends and loves the vibrant food scene. She looks forward to gaining more writing experience and learning how to correctly interpret legal documents. Welcome to the team, Ashley, we are excited to have you!
